Whether you’ve attended church your whole life or never stepped foot in one before, we know it’s not easy visiting a church for the first time. Where do I go? Where should I park? How should I dress? How long does it last? What about my kids?
We want your first experience at The Journey to be relaxed, and for you and your family to enjoy the service. So, here is some information to help you know what to expect:
What Time is the Service?
The Journey meets every Sunday at 9:30am or 11:00am, and the service lasts just over an hour. We encourage you to arrive 10-15 minutes early, especially if you have young children. This will give you plenty of time to get your children checked into Journey Kidz and for you to find a good seat in the Great Hall prior to the service starting.
Where is The Journey?
The Journey meets Sundays @ 9:30am or 11:00am at Grandview Preparatory School, located at 336 NW Spanish River Blvd, Boca Raton, FL 33431 (near NW 2nd Ave, at I-95 exit 48A for Spanish River Blvd.).
What Should I Do When I Get There?
When you arrive, you will find clear signage and our friendly volunteers there to help direct you. If you have children ages birth through 5th grade, then just follow the signs to our Journey Kidz check-in area to the right of the main theater entrance.
You will receive a program and a pen on your way into the service. This program will include message notes, important information, and a connection card, which you will turn in at the end of the service.
And on your way in, if you have questions, just look for one of our courteous volunteers in a Journey t-shirt. They’re easy to spot and always happy to help!
How Should I Dress?
We care more about you than with what you wear, so the dress is always casual. At The Journey, you will find many people wearing shorts and sandals. Dress how you are most comfortable, and you will fit right in – shorts and suits are equally welcomed.
What Are the Messages Like?
What About the Music?
The music at The Journey is upbeat, modern, and uplifting! The Journey features a live band with electric guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums every week. We sing modern songs of faith, but you might also hear a Top 40 song or a classic hymn. Think your favorite rock station with a twist.
What's Available for My Kids?
The Journey offers a safe and exciting children’s program during the worship service for your children, birth to 5th grade.
As you approach the service, you will see our Journey Kidz check-in area just to the right of the main theater (just follow the signs and the bubbles!). There you will meet one of our fully-trained and background-checked Journey Kidz Team members who will help you check your child in.
During check-in, you will receive a receipt sticker, which you will need to pick up your child after the service. For the security of your children, it is important that you keep track of your receipt sticker. This helps us know that you are the person authorized to pick up your child.
Journey Kidz is staffed solely by members in good standing at The Journey, who have been background checked and receive ongoing training to make your children’s experience the best it can be!
During Journey Kidz, your children will experience fun Bible lessons, activities and games to help them build a spiritual foundation. Simply stated: we want this to be the best hour of your child’s week!
What's Available for My Middle and High School Students?
During the 11:00am service, your middle school students (grades 6-8) are invited to an environment designed just for them! Fun games, great music, and discussions on the Bible and faith are just a few of the exciting things happening at EPIC!
This is a great way to connect with other students from The Journey Church who attend schools from all around the area–while growing spiritually.
Just follow the signs to the EPIC classroom to the right of the main theater.
If you have questions, contact Pastor Jason Hatley at [email protected] or call 561.420.0606 x310.
High School students are invited to the worship service as the messages, music, and more will be relevant and appeal to High Schoolers.
What's Available During the Week?
During the week, The Journey meets as Growth Groups at convenient locations throughout South Palm Beach and Broward counties. Growth Groups are groups of 15 or so people who join together to study the Bible, grow spiritually, meet new people and have fun.

How Did The Journey Get Started?
Lead Pastor Jason Hatley and his wife Karen moved to Boca Raton in the summer of 2010 to start The Journey Church. Jason served as a pastor of The Journey Church in Manhattan for nearly a decade prior to feeling called to start The Journey’s newest location here in South Florida.
On February 13, 2011, The Journey celebrated it’s Grand Opening and the start of weekly services. Today, hundreds of people call The Journey home, while over a dozen Growth Groups meet every week throughout South Florida.
God has blessed our church thus far, not only here in Boca Raton, but also at our campuses in New York City as well. Our church is growing steadily, serving the community and sharing Christ with the people of South Florida along the way.
And we believe that the best days are still ahead!
