A: We are a church that dares to dream big dreams for God. Big dreams require big faith and big funding.  We have prayerfully and strategically set a goal of $630,000 for the based on the size, weekly giving and expected costs of completing the work outlined in the Building For Life initiative.

A: We are asking everyone who loves our church to make an initial sacrificial gift on Commitment Sunday, September 29, and for leaders and key supporters, we’re asking you to make your initial gift on Early Gifts Sunday, September 15.

Also, on that day we will ask everyone to make a 36-month commitment to help us reach our goal of $630,000.  It will take all of us giving sacrificially to reach this goal. Please pray about making both a Cash and a 36-month Commitment. Give God a chance to do a miracle in your life. Let him stretch your faith!

A: The Building For Life fund is kept separate from the general ministry funds. All Building For Life gifts will be used specifically for the 4 areas of the initiative outlined in this packet. It is important to remember that our Building For Life gifts are to be in addition to our regular giving for the ongoing operation of the church. Otherwise our day-to-day ministries would suffer.

A: We are not planning on launching another Journey campus through this initiative. Rather, we will begin searching for a cross-cultural non-English speaking church to support once pledges are secured and initial gifts come in. Our ultimate goal is to identify a church partner that we can also send mission teams to serve with somewhere in the South or Central Florida region.

A: I am reminded of the story of the poor widow whom Jesus honored because of her giving in Mark 12:41–44. When the woman gave two copper pennies – all that she owned – Jesus said,

“I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others, for they gave a tiny part of thier surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.”

From her story we learn three important truths:

• Your attitude is more important than your amount in giving.
• It is always possible to give something IF we really trust God.
• God measures our faith by comparing what we’ve been given with what we have left over after we’ve given.

This is why our theme is “equal sacrifice, not equal gifts.” As you consider what a genuine “sacrifice“ will mean to you, I urge you to pray and ask God to reveal how much you should give. He will guide and direct you (Proverbs 3:5-6). Let him stretch your faith. Then respond in faith by simply doing what he asks (Mark 10:27).

Likewise, you can use your bank’s online payment option to send a check directly to the church office. Just mark in the memo area that your gift is for the Building For Life initiative.

Then you can text the word “LIFE” and the amount of your gift (i.e. Life 500 or Life 1000).
